In Ash and Light, Jehan Legac conjures a portrait that exists between the sacred and the ephemeral. A young woman is depicted in serene profile, her eyes closed in silent reverie. A faint golden halo circles her head, lending her an air of divine stillness. Her skin glows with the softness of ivory, while her flowing hair, entangled with dried leaves and fractured gold, suggests both decay and transfiguration.

The painting's textures mimic time's gentle erosion: the cracked golden surface, the faded blue-gray background, the worn frame. Her body dissolves into delicate lace, as if woven from breath and memory. She does not pose—she drifts, she exists, she becomes.

Ash and Light speaks to the paradox of presence: how beauty can emerge from erosion, how silence holds its own radiance. Through reverent brushwork and poetic restraint, Legac renders the invisible—the sacred stillness behind what is seen.
