The title PolyGame names this multiplicity without resolving it. The "game" is not singular — it is plural, simultaneous, uncontrollable. Does the warrior play? Or is he himself a piece in a game that exceeds him? The figures surrounding him seem neither to attack nor to venerate him — they simply coexist within the same pictorial space, as real as one another, as ephemeral. The painting is a topology where several realities overlap without contradicting.
What Legac enacts here is a meditation on the multiplicity of roles we play and that play us. The armour — a metaphor for rigid identity, for the social carapace — cuts sharply against the fluidity of the flesh around it. The warrior is defined, bounded, visible; the surrounding figures are in the process of becoming or ceasing to be. The cold palette — blue-grey, teal, bronze — unifies this visual cacophony into atmospheric coherence. The work does not narrate a battle; it maps a state: consciousness grappling with its own multiplicities.
